I have mixed feelings about my stay at Hilton San Diego Bayfront. The location is stunning, right by the waterfront and convenient for events, but my experience was marred by service issues. The staff ranged from friendly to rude, and there were several mishaps with my room and check-in process that left me frustrated. While the views from my room were great, I expected way better service for the price I paid.
Rooms
5.0
My room had a large, comfortable bed with a beautiful view, which was a major plus. However, there were issues with the amenities, like a malfunctioning TV remote and no extra toiletries.
Service
5.0
The check-in process was below expectations and staff seemed more focused on upselling than assisting. I faced numerous miscommunications regarding my stay which could have been easily avoided.
Location
10.0
Being next to the San Diego Convention Center and right by the waterfront made it easy for me to explore the area, which I really appreciated.
Dining
6.0
I had some confusion with breakfast vouchers, and while they were usable at Starbucks, I wished for more clarity about what they covered. The dining options could definitely use clearer communication.
Facilities
5.0
I found the pool area nice, but the spa felt overpriced without much attention to detail in its amenities. There were also extra charges for various services, which added up quickly.

I had a varied experience during my stay at Hilton San Diego Bayfront. The location is fantastic, right on the bay and just a short walk to the Gaslamp District. However, I found the overall condition of the hotel to feel a bit outdated and some areas, like the bar in the morning, could use better service. The pool area was nice, albeit quite noisy due to nearby facilities. Overall, it's a decent option, but improvements in service and room quality would make it far better. 🌊😊

The Bay-City View King Room I stayed in was spacious and offered a lovely view, but I noticed a big mosquito on the bathroom ceiling and a broken shower curtain. Overall, it was clean and functional, but a bit more attention to detail would have enhanced my experience.
Service
6.0
The staff were generally friendly during my stay, but I felt the service could have been improved in certain areas. Particularly at the bar in the mornings, where the tables weren't very clean and the staff seemed less approachable. The service at night, however, was much better.
Location
9.0
The location is definitely a highlight! Being right next to the bay made for scenic walks and the proximity to the Gaslamp District was incredibly convenient for dining and entertainment.
Dining

Breakfast was disappointing. I ordered blueberry pancakes that had an odd taste and when I brought this to the waiter’s attention, there was no follow-up to address my concern. I’d recommend eating elsewhere for breakfast.
Facilities
7.0
The pool area and fitness room were well-maintained, but I noticed that some treadmills in the fitness area were not working. The hotel also has a nice selection of amenities, but the parking price felt excessive at $35 a day.

I recently stayed at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront for a family getaway and while the location was fantastic—right by the waterfront and close to the Gaslamp district, I had mixed feelings about my experience. The hotel felt enormous and bustling, leading to some noise and cleanliness concerns, particularly with room service issues. On the upside, the staff were overall friendly and helpful, making the stay manageable, but the pricing felt steep given the circumstances.
Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious enough for our family of four and had a fridge, which was useful. However, we encountered a major issue with cleanliness as some room service left by our neighbors was only picked up days later.
Service
6.0
While some staff showed great hospitality, especially at the luggage desk, the overall service could be improved, particularly in communication during our concerns about noise and room cleanliness.
Location
10.0
The location was a real highlight. It was a pleasant morning walk along the waterfront, and I appreciated being so close to attractions like Petco Park, making it ideal for exploring San Diego.
Dining
6.0
Dining options felt limited during my stay, with only a buffet available due to staffing issues. The food was decent but not what I expected for the price.
Facilities
5.0
I faced disappointment regarding the gym policy; my kids weren't allowed to use the facilities when they’re both competitive athletes. The amenities overall seemed reduced due to staff shortages.

My time at Hilton San Diego Bayfront had its ups and downs. While I admired the beautiful views and spacious rooms, my experience was marred by inconsistent service and cleanliness issues. The hotel has potential, but I wasn't thrilled with my stay overall.
Rooms
6.0
I stayed in a room with a stunning view, but I noticed cleanliness issues. There was an eyelash on my pillow and gum on the wall, which was disappointing. Despite these setbacks, the room was spacious and comfortable, making for a decent stay.
Service
5.0
The staff was generally friendly, but my experience with the housekeeping was poor. I put a do not disturb sign on my door, yet they knocked multiple times to ask about my checkout time. It felt like my privacy wasn't respected, which was frustrating.
Location
7.0
I found the location to be quite convenient, close to the waterfront and attractions. However, I didn't take advantage of everything the area had to offer, as I was busy dealing with other issues during my stay.
Dining
6.0
I enjoyed room service one morning, especially the Bread Pudding French Toast. The dining experience wasn’t overall perfect, though, as the bar service in the morning was less friendly compared to the night. Tables were also not very clean.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel has a variety of amenities like room service and laundry, but I faced issues with housekeeping being unavailable. This put a damper on my stay since I was expecting more consistent service given the hotel's status.

I just enjoyed a fantastic six-day stay at Hilton San Diego Bayfront. The location is perfect—right next to the convention center and only a short walk to the Gaslamp area. My room was clean and spacious, but I did find the pillows a bit lumpy. The main downside was the noise from adjacent rooms, which made it hard for me to get quality sleep. Despite that, I’d definitely come back.

My Bayview room was spacious, clean, and had a stunning view of the bay. However, the pillows were lumpy, which impacted my comfort a bit.
Service

Service was generally excellent; the staff were friendly and helpful. I had a great interaction with the concierge, and room service was on point. However, the bar service in the morning could’ve been better.

The hotel’s location is fantastic! Super close to Seaport Village and easy to walk to the USS Midway and Gaslamp Quarter.
Dining
7.0
I really enjoyed the room service and lunch by the pool, but I found the menu a bit pricey for dinner at the on-site restaurant. I missed out on the frozen yogurt place since it was closed.
Facilities
8.0
The facilities are nice, with a pool area that's great for relaxing. However, it felt a bit small for such a large hotel.
